Knowledge and Understanding

We are able to provide bespoke residential and non-residential events and workshops. These experiential learning events and workshops are aimed at helping those attending to gain specific understanding of areas of their life or work that are restricting the growth of good health and wellbeing.


The training is designed as an interactive learning experience using problem-based scenarios and re active group discussions to engage participants in applying the core knowledge to their relevant personal life and workplace.

Our events are hosted by Bryan and Caroline Hurley. Wellness Practitioner and Nutritionist, Caroline Hurley established her wellbeing-based business in 1998. Bryan Hurley is a Wellness Coach with over 20 years’ experience.

Wellbeing Retreats in association with Wellness for Law UK

The Wellbeing Retreats have been developed by Rachel Spearing, Co-Founder of the Bar Wellbeing Project along with Caroline and Bryan Hurley directors of Healthwell Solutions.


Wellness for Law UK was initiated by Rachel Spearing who is a Barrister in practice engaged with the academic study and support for Wellbeing in the legal profession. The organisation is overseen and managed by an Advisory Board of professionals connected to the Network objectives. Wellness for Law UK Website


Caroline Hurley is a Wellness Practitioner and Nutritionist who established her wellbeing-based business in 1998.


Bryan Hurley is a Wellness Coach, NLP Practitioner and Life Coach with over 20 years’ experience

The aims of this residential weekend.

  • To explore the specific challenges impacting practitioners at the Bar, and those working within the profession and the impact this can have on their health and wellbeing.
  • To equip those attending with the confidence and skill to create and maintain healthy lifestyles while operating in a high-pressure workplace.

Training Objectives

  • Develop knowledge of what mental health is and common mental health issues.
  • Gain specific understanding of some of the pressures experienced by Barristers and those working with the Bar.
  • Enable participants to signpost for support and further guidance to promote good mental health and aid recovery.
  • Provide an ability to identify and respond to mental health issues in yourself & others.
  • Aim to strengthen personal resilience and improve our ability to successfully apply resilience in difficult situations.

The Delivery

The training is designed as an interactive learning experience using problem-based scenarios and re active group discussions to engage participants in applying the core knowledge to their relevant practice and workplace.Activities can include:

  • Coaching and Motivational Sessions
  • Yoga/Thai chi
  • Mindfulness sessions
  • Art & Beach Therapy
  • Massage/holistic therapies
  • Indoor/outdoor exercise
  • Nutritional Education

:Bespoke Training Groups from 8 – 10 people


Individual follow up sessions to in-bed changes identified to create a healthier lifestyle can be provided by Bryan Hurley.
